"Shoreline" - SOLD

Our Internet has been in and out since we moved. So, sorry if I have been slow to respond. So far I have really enjoyed this studio. My last studio was in our unfinished basement. We painted the concrete walls and and cleaned it up nicely, but my new space is so much nicer, although smaller.

"Applesauce" - SOLD

My son helped me title this one. I am not completely sure where he derived this title, but it sort of works...at least for me.

"Gazing" - SOLD

Its funny that the direction of a stem can change a painting. I think we all tend to personify objects in a painting, and this personification really seems to dictate how I set up the initial composition... Hmmmm, Well, I guess only sometimes. Other times I set up a painting and, only later, realize the odd conversation an apple is having with another object. Or the way one apple might posses a dominate personality, and another shy...

"Huddle" - SOLD

I did not get a chance to paint any more from Yellowstone. I really wish I had. It is a beautiful place. We seemed to do a lot of driving and seeing the sights. Well, I'm back in the studio.

"Breaking Light" - SOLD

Well I am up in Yellowstone National Park, and this is outside the place we are staying. This is certainly a bit more abstract, so if you take about five steps back from your computer screen and I think the painting will make more sense. I will be painting outside for the next few days.

"Stout" - SOLD

I had a hard time painting the vase. I actually wiped it down twice and left the studio. Then I decided to give it one more shot and to just have fun and concentrate on color and transition and less on drawing. So this is where we ended.

"Escape" - SOLD

Well, I have made some adjustments on the lights and I think the balance is better. I think I will like this new studio space. Now my next issue is to find a good place to photograph my paintings. I like to be able to take a picture and not have to mess with the color variations too much.

"Kinks"

This one is very dark. I have been trying to work out the kinks in my studio, including lighting. I built a new light attachment to my easel that moves up and down, and on this one I had the light too close. This caused the colors to read fine until I took the painting down and looked at it in a different setting. Way too dark. So, I'll keep moving forward. Happy to be back.
